Groups with Mission or Congregational Focus

The Deacons meet the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM at the church. Please feel free to attend any meeting. The deacons first responsibility is to minister to those in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress within and beyond our community of faith. Officers are co-moderators Betty and Bob Cameron with Colleen Wittkamp as secretary. The ministries are extended communion, hospital visitations, meal ministry, member contact, notes/cards, special friends, Sunday fellowship hour, ushers, greeters, and young adult outreach. Each deacon is assigned to oversee a specific ministry but can provide information on all ministries. Volunteers are needed to assist with each ministry. The Deacon's Handbook contains the current deacons, a description of each ministry, and information to contact each deacon.

The Worship Committee's objective is to provide a meaningful service to worship God at First Presbyterian Church. The Worship Committee’s responsibilities include preparation for communion service, arranging for liturgists, care of worship paraments and supplies, providing floral displays in the sanctuary, and arranging for pulpit supply in the absence of the pastor. We work in cooperation with the pastor in planning seasonal and special worship services; and with the organist, hand bell directors, and the choir director to provide the support necessary for the music program. The committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 8:00 pm at the church. We welcome comments and helpful input from the congregation.
