First Presbyterian Church Worship Committee

The Purpose of the Worship Committee at First Presbyterian Church is to oversee all areas of worship and to ensure a meaningful experience for all members of the congregation. Our goal is to assist the pastor in creating EPIC worship services:

E - Experiential

P - Participatory

I - Image-driven

C - Community

The projection system in the sanctuary helps us to easily see and follow the order of worship, and the visuals aid in understanding and remembering Pastor Deb's sermon. Our sound system and assistive hearing devices also enhance hearing God's message. Children are welcomed and included through the Time with Children message. Throughout the year we invite participation of our church family as liturgists, ushers, and communion servers.

Music is an important part of worship. We are blessed to have an Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ and a talented organist, the Rev. Randy Webster, who graces us with his music. The chancel choir and the handbell choir provide special music throughout the year.

In addition to our Sunday morning service, special services include Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Lakeside Easter Sunrise, Pentecost, and Kick-Off Sunday. In November, we recognize and include veterans in the service close to Veterans Day.

Current members of the Worship Committee are Carol Brotherson, moderator, Vickie Carhoff, Eva Ann Elmer, Richard Hoisington, Randy Kinney and Marilyn Leight.
